"For the first time in history, we are no longer at the top: Muslims have overtaken us," Monsignor Vittorio Formenti said in an interview with the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano. Formenti compiles the Vatican’s yearbook.
He said that Catholics accounted for 17.4 percent of the world population - a stable percentage - while Muslims were at 19.2 percent.
"It is true that while Muslim families, as is well known, continue to make a lot of children, Christian ones on the contrary tend to have fewer and fewer," the monsignor said.
Formenti said that the data refer to 2006. The figures on Muslims were put together by Muslim countries and then provided to the United Nations, he said, adding that the Vatican could only vouch for its own data.
When considering all Christians and not just Catholics, Christians make up 33 percent of the world population, Formenti said.
Spokesmen for the Vatican and the United Nations did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment Sunday.

What is the place of sufism in Islam? What truth is there in ‘religious experiences’
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008Question:

word “Sufism” was not known at the time of the Messenger or the
Sahaabah or the Taabi’een. It arose at the time when a group of
ascetics who wore wool (“soof”) emerged, and this name was given to them. It was also said that the name was taken from the word “soofiya” (“sophia”) which means “wisdom” in Greek. The word is not derived from al-safa’ (“purity”) as some of them claim, because the adjective derived from safa’ is safaa’i, not soofi (sufi).
The emergence of this new name and the group to whom it is applied
exacerbated the divisions among Muslims. The early Sufis differed from
the later Sufis who spread bid’ah (innovation) to a greater extent and
made shirk in both minor and major forms commonplace among the people,
as well as the innovations against which the Messenger
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned us when he said,
“Beware of newly-invented things, for every newly-invented thing is an
innovation and every innovation is a going-astray.” (Reported by
al-Tirmidhi, who said it is saheeh hasan).
has numerous branches or tareeqahs, such as the Teejaniyyah,
Qaadiriyyah, Naqshbandiyyah, Shaadhiliyyah, Rifaa’iyyah, etc., the
followers of which all claim that their particular tareeqah is on the
path of truth whilst the others are following falsehood. Islam forbids
such sectarianism. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
those who split up their religion (i.e., who left the true Islamic
monotheism), and became sects, [i.e., they invented new things in the
religion (bid’ah) and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing
in that which is with it.” [al-Room 30:31-32]
worship others than Allaah, such as Prophets and “awliya’” [“saints”],
living or dead. They say, “Yaa Jeelaani”, “Yaa Rifaa’i” [calling on
their awliya’], or “O Messenger of Allaah, help and save” or “O
Messenger of Allaah, our dependence is on you”, etc.
Allaah forbids us to call on anyone except Him in matters that are
beyond the person’s capabilities. If a person does this, Allaah will
count him as a mushrik, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
invoke not, besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt
you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the
zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers).” [Yoonus 10:106]
believe that there are abdaal, aqtaab and awliya’ (kinds of “saints”)
to whom Allaah has given the power to run the affairs of the universe.
Allaah tells us about the mushrikeen (interpretation of the meaning):

touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things.” [al-An’aam

creation, instead they say that everything is creation and everything

advocate extreme asceticism in this life and do not believe in taking

the meaning):

Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this
world…” [al-Qasas 28:77]
Sufis refer the idea of ihsaan to their shaykhs and tell their
followers to have a picture of their shaykh in mind when they remember
Allaah and even when they are praying. Some of them even put a picture
of their shaykh in front of them when they are praying. The Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Ihsaan is when you
worship Allaah as if you can see Him, and although you cannot see Him,
He can see you.” (Reported by Muslim).
allow dancing, drums and musical instruments, and raising the voice
when making dhikr, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
you see some of them making dhikr by only pronouncing the Name of
Allaah, saying, “Allaah, Allaah, Allaah.” This is bid’ah and has no
meaning in Islam. They even go to the extreme of saying, “Ah, ah” or
“Hu, Hu.” The Sunnah is for the Muslim to remember his Lord in words
that have a true meaning for which he will be rewarded, such as saying Subhaan Allaah wa Alhamdulillah wa Laa ilaaha illa Allaah wa Allaahu akbar, and so on.
recite love poems mentioning the names of women and boys in their dhikr
gatherings, and they repeat words such as “love”, “passion”, “desire”
and so on, as if they are in a gathering where people dance and drink
wine and clap and shout. All of this has to do with the customs and
acts of worship of the mushrikeen. Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):
pierce themselves with rods of iron, saying, “O my grandfather!” So the
shayaateen come to them and help them, because they are seeking the
help of someone other than Allaah . Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):

teachings by raising their voices in dhikr and anaasheed (religious

regard to the question of the whether the Sufi shaykhs have some kind
of contact, this is true, but their contact is with the shayaateen, not
with Allaah, so they inspire one another with adorned speech as a
delusion (or by way of deception), as Allaah says (interpretation of
the meaning):
We have appointed for every Prophet enemies – shayaateen (devils) among
mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a
delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they
would not have done it…” [al-An’aam 6:112]

have with Allaah. Exalted be Allaah far above that. (See Mu’jam al-Bida’, 346 –359).
some of these Sufi shaykhs disappear suddenly from the sight of their
followers, this is the result of their contact with the shayaateen, who
may even carry them to a distant place and bring them back in the same
day or night, to mislead their human followers.
the important rule here is not to judge people by the extraordinary
feats that they may do. We should judge them by how closely or
otherwise they adhere to the Qur’aan and Sunnah. The true friends of
Allaah (awliya’) are not necessarily known for performing astounding
feats. On the contrary, they are the ones who worship Allaah in the
manner that He has prescribed, and not by doing acts of bid’ah. The
true awliya’ or friends of Allaah are those whom our Lord has described
in the hadeeth qudsi narrated by al-Bukhaari in his Saheeh (5/2384) from Abu Hurayrah, who said:
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah said,
‘Whoever shows enmity towards a friend (wali) of Mine, I declare war
against him. My slave does not draw close to Me with anything more
loved by Me than the religious duties that I have enjoined on him, and
My slave continues to draw close to Me with supererogatory (naafil)
acts, so that I will love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with
which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he
strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of
Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I
would surely grant him it.’”

“The Ahle Sonnat Iran Channel on “You”tube has been BANNED !”
Monday, March 24th, 2008March 17, 2008 by sunnairan
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Today we recieved the
sad news, that the only Channel of the Ahl Al-Sunnah of Iran has been
banned by Youtube ! the only crime of this channel was the message and
the call of the Sunna Iranian people and it’s efforts in exposing the
pagan religion of the twelver Rafidha Shias ! the twelver rejectionists
Shias were so enraged by the Videos of this Channel because they
exposed the true Character of the cult of the Rafidha ! all their
hatred towards the companions and pure wives of the messenger of Allah
(sallAllahu ‘aleyhi wa sallam) and all their heretical and paganistic
believes were exposed to all those ignorant Muslims who were not aware
of the true character of the Rafidha. Obviously they got even more
enraged due to the reason that this Da’wa was carried out by nobody
else but the Sons of Ahle Sonnat Iran who have shown the Islamic Umma
what the twelver Rafidha priests usually hide in their private councils
!
But there was another
important idead behind the Channel, another great goal ! (they same one
that we try to achieve by the permission of Allah ta’ala) it was to
spread the call of the opressed Sunna Iranian people ! It was the call
of Ahle Sonnat Iran, a message to the Umma, a Umma which was deceived
by the empty rhetorics of the Rafidha the so called the
Banner of Unity! the game of the Iranian Rafidhi regime that fooled the
entire Umma and covered up over its crimes against the Sunni Iranian
people.
This was most probably
the most hateful issue for the Rafidha (especially the arab ones who
hate the Sunni Iranians the most). This was the point which enraged
them so much ! this Channel was the most famous Iranian Sunna and Shia
exposing Channel on the entire Youtube ! it had more than 2 mio viewers
for it’s Videos, it was famous worldwide by the grace of Allah and now
it is put down by the Qadr of Allah ‘azza wa Jall !
and all the Rafidha
could do was to flag the Videos ! this slaves of Ayatul-Satans flagged
the Videos so much that youtube banned the Channel ! the Rafidha
started whole campaignes against the Channel and it’s owner
OmarHassanAlFarsyy ! these cowards mobilized the Rafidha Shias
worldwide to save what was left from their Ibn Saba, Safawi Religion.
So all we can say is: congratulation Rafidha ! you couldn’t stand the
presence of the sons of Ahle Sonnat Iran ! you couldn’t stand it that
the sons of Ahle Sonnat, that ironically Sunni Iranians
are foremost on the whole youtube to expose your Shirki-Kuffri cult !
you couldn’t stand the spread of the call of Ahle Sonnat Iran and their
tragedy ! so you and your Mushrik ilks did what you did ! but by Allah
the creator of heavens and earth the helper of the weak and oppressed
this was just a temporary victory of yours !
O Rafidha ! O offsprings of the Safawis ! O Sons of Ibn Saba the Jew !
remember Kheybar ! the day were the messenger of Allah (sallaAllahu ‘aleyhi wa sallam) and his noble companions
defeated your forefathers (the Jews) O sons of Ibn Saba the Jew this
humble site (SunnaIran.wordpress.com) and the Ahle Sonnat Iran channel
were just the beginning of our hunt ! the sons of Ahle Sonnat Iran have
been awaken and O Umma of Mohammad (sallAllahu ‘aleyhi wa sallam) and
all those who have forgotten the Ahl Al-Sunna of Iran and O enemies of
Allah and Sahaba O Infidel Rafidhis we will come back ! by the
permission of Allah we will flood the media with the call of Ahle
Sonnat Iran and with clear-cut refutations by the brother
OmarHassanAlFarsyy and the Sons of Ahle Sonnat of Iran ! we are very
amused to see your coward behaviour and it is the the same situation as
in Iran where the Sunna Iranian sites have been banned daily due to the
fear of the Rafidhi Safawi regime. We promise the Muslimeen that by the
permission of Allah the call of Ahle Sonnat Iran and the refutation of
the pagan cult of the Rafidha will be continiued !
And the case of the
opressed Sunna Iranian people and case of the Ahle Sonnat Iran Channel
should be a lesson for the entire Umma !
AND KNOW O
MUWAHHID, MAY ALLAH HAVE MERCY ON YOU, THAT HISTORY OF THIS DEEN IS
WRITTEN WITH THE BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS MAY ALLAH DESTROY THE NATION OF
THE RAFIDHA BY ALLAH THE SHAHEED Abu Mus’ab rahimahullah (a Mujahid of
Iraq) WANTED TO IGNITE A CIVIL WAR BETWEEN THE SLEEPING SUNNIS AND THE
BLOOD THIRSTY RAFIDHA, he MENTIONED TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT HOW THE
SHIA IMAMS CALLED FOR REVENGE ON THE SUNNIS WHEN SADDAMS REGIME FELL
BUT THE SUNNIS WERE TO BUSY CALLING FOR UNITY AND INTER WEDDING WITH
SONS OF THE SAFAWIS (SHIA RAFIDHA) CALLING TO UNITY WITH A CULT WHICH
ELEVATES THE CURSING OF THE SAHABA AS A FORM OF WORSHIP ! BY ALLAH THE
HONOUR OF OUR MOTHER AISHA AND HER FATHER IS MORE BELOVED TO US THEN
THE ENTIRE SHIA POPULATION. WHICH SUNNI MUSLIM WOULD ALLOW THERE MOTHER
TO BE CURSED AND ACCUSED OF ADULTERY WITHOUT PUTTING A BULLIT IN THE
HEAD OF THE PERSON SPEAKING SUCH EVIL WORDS THE WIVES OF THE PROPHETS
ARE THE MOTHERS OF THE BELIVERS. OH SUNNIS OF IRAN DEFEAT OR BE DEFEATED OH
SUNNIS OF THE WORLD MAKE DUA FOR THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN IRAN AND
ALL THE OTHER LANDS OF OCCUPATION OH SUNNIS WAKE UP FROM THIS SLUMBER
AND REMEMBER DUA IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON FOR THE BELIEVERS SO MAKE
IT WITH ALL YOUR HEART LET TEARS FLOW FROM OUR EYES LET OUR HEARTS FEEL
WOUNDED AND LET OUR TONGUES CURSE THE RAFIDHA. WE AS A MUSLIM UMMAH
NEED TO AWAKE AND STOP CALLING TO UNITY UNLESS ITS A UNITY CALLING TO
TAWEED MAY ALLAH HELP THE SUNNIS OF IRAQ AND IRAN BUT THEY THEMSELVES
NEED TO RISE AND HOLD ONTO THE DEEN OF HONOUR AND REBEL AGAINST THESE
KAFIR TYRANTS MAY ALLAH DESTROY THE NATION OF THE RAFIDA
Filistin:
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008Mideast Wire
On March 11, the Hamas-backed newspaper Filistin reported: "The ministry of information has denounced the campaign that a number of Palestinian sides have been waging against the Al-Jazeera Satellite Television Channel, deeming this as an old and not new onslaught that does not represent the Palestinian national and official position but represents the position of some individuals and groups that are connected with the US Administration and Hebrew state. At the same time, the ministry lauded the position of the Al-Jazeera Channel in exposing Israeli violations under the silence of the official Arab media and Palestinian media in Ramallah.
"Dr Hasan Abu-Hashish, deputy undersecretary of the ministry of information, says: "We view the Al-Jazeera Satellite Television Channel in a very professional way and with complete satisfaction, and we appreciate and value what Al-Jazeera has done in setting in motion the stagnant waters in the media process at the Arab media level and the region in general.
"We also highly appreciate the Al-Jazeera Channel’s enormous efforts in exposing the Israeli aggression, supporting the Palestinian right and explaining to the world in general this people’s torments. Subsequently, this is the general national position of the Palestinian people and their national and official institutions. Any position that contradicts this position is an individual, personal and party position that is not objective, and does not represent all the Palestinians and the higher national or political vision in Palestine."
"In a statement to Filastin, Abu-Hashish affirmed that Al-Jazeera Channel is like the free media in the Arab World that is subjected to blackmail and harassment by the settlement and normalization trend in the region at the instruction of the US Administration and Hebrew state. He said that Tel Aviv did not conceal this when it attacked Al-Jazeera and accused it of instigating violence because it was conveying the Palestinian people’s suffering as a result of the aggression and blockade.
"He said: "We in the information ministry in the Palestinian [National] Authority hold a view on any campaign, whether by some Palestinian mouthpieces, the Authority’s television in Ramallah known as the Palestine Television, some Fatah deputies, the US Administration or some Arab regimes. We view this onslaught as being part of the campaign to disrupt Al-Jazeera’s media, national and responsible role as it exposes the Israeli aggression in a manner that conveys the real picture to the world."
"He added: "We believe that this is a kind of blackmail by the Fatah Movement and before that by the Fatah media and the occupation. The aim is to bring pressure to bear on the Al-Jazeera Channel and subsequently make it embrace the Fatah Movement’s story and stay away from the story of the resistance and opposition in the Arab World. This contradicts the simplest rights and simplest rules of respectable professional work and respectable relations between countries and institutions.
"Abu-Hashish also said that he regarded the onslaught against the Al-Jazeera Channel as being an old and not a new thing or has anything to do with any programme. He affirmed that several Al-Jazeera correspondents have been arrested, martyred, injured or subjected to various kinds of practices in several countries. He also said that he expected this onslaught against Al-Jazeera to continue if it continues with its neutrality and professionalism.
"The deputy undersecretary of the Palestinian information ministry said: "We believe that the pitfall of Dr Faysal al-Qasim in the "Opposite Direction" programme was unprecedented, but this matter was quickly handled by Al-Jazeera Channel and it apologized to the Arab and Islamic World for that. However, the onslaught against Al-Jazeera started before this case and is aimed at stirring up old grudges and exploiting the loopholes in which the Al-Jazeera Channel might fall.
"This is in order to attack and undermine it and influence its message to make it biased in favour of the story that satisfies the US Administration, Hebrew state and some trends that agree with the US position in the region." - Filistin, Palestine

Hijab crisis now in Tunisia
Committee to Protect Veiled Women in Tunisia denounced the crime
committed by Mohsen Balshadly (a mathematics teacher in Hassan Hosny
Abdul-Wahab Institute, Basateen Monayhela district, Tunis). On Thursday
march 6, 2008, where the teacher physically abused the veiled girl
Asma’a Al-Habboby who is studying in the Economics Dept (forth year)
and also abused here verbally by calling her repulsive names, then he
pulled her veil apart in pieces by force while she was in the middle of
her exam. The committee considered that crime as infringement of a
Tunisian woman honor and a deviation from social and educational
values.
The victim Asma’a Al-Habboby called all her Tunisian veiled
colleagues to pluck up courage to unmask these practices, reaching all
local administrative levels and to raise their complaints to the

UNAMI report about human rights situation in Iraq
The
UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) issued its twelfth report on the
human rights situation in the country covering the period from July 1
to December 31, 2007. The report recognizes that the last three months
of 2007 were characterized by a marked decrease in violent attacks
involving mass casualties. The report notes the enormous challenges the
Government of Iraq continued to face during the reporting period in its
efforts to bring sectarian violence and other criminal activities under
control against a backdrop of political instability and stalled efforts
in revitalizing a national reconciliation process. UNAMI cautions that,
“Although security has improved in parts of Baghdad and other
locations, it deteriorated elsewhere with heightened activity by
insurgent armed groups."
The twelfth Quarterly Human Rights Report welcomed the measures taken
by the Government of Iraq and the judicial authorities in order to
improve the treatment of detainees, including efforts exerted to ensure
more effective judicial oversight.
Moreover, UNAMI welcomed the Iraqi Government’s decision to ratify the UN Convention Against Torture.

After five-years occupation, what is the destiny of Iraq??
Amnesty International issued its report titled "Massacres &
Despair" in which it confirmed that attacks and sectarian killings
committed by armed groups, besides torture and maltreatment by Iraqi
government forces and those thousands of suspected detained by Iraqi
& American forces, emphasizing that all of this has a destructive
effect, as it caused evacuation of more than 4 million Iraqi citizens.
Many detainees are in custody for years with no accusation or trial.
Five years passed on Saddam Hussein’s regime overthrowing by the forces
led by the United States, yet Iraq is still one of the most
compromising countries all over the world in regarding human rights.

A statement regarding the banning of aleshteraki.net website
Yemeni
Journalist Syndicate expressed its severe concern about the violations
which recently targeted independent and partisan mass media. The
syndicate denounced in particular the disabling of news websites that aleshteraki.net
was the last one disabled, which has been disabled four times in less
than one year, which illustrates that the government didn’t keep faith
of its obligations with the syndicate.
Last action taken against aleshteraki.net
and the banning of the search engine "Yemen Portal" were considered by
the syndicate as a direct aggression against the right to freedom of
expression & press that is guaranteed by the Yemeni constitution.
The syndicate called on the Yemeni government to stop its aggressive
policy against independent and opposition mass media.

Chasing Ikhwanonline editor-in-chef and his sit-in in journalist syndicate
The
Arabic Network for Human Rights Information denounced the police
campaign continued against media professionals belong to Muslim
brotherhood as Ikhwanonline editor-in-chef and the journalist
Abdul-Jalil Al-Sharnooby’s house was taken by storm.
The Network confirmed that Al-Sharnooby wasn’t available the time his
house was attacked that when he knew about his arrest warrant, he
rushed to the journalist syndicate in which he is still in a sit-in.
Moreover, the Arabic Network expressed its solidarity with journalists
and media professionals targeted by the brutal campaign, and confirmed
that freedom of expression whether online or in printed Press, is a
right guaranteed for every citizen by the constitution & the law.
The Network calls on the government to stop all kinds of oppression and
systematic violations against these liberties.
In the battlefield of defending freedom of expression
Judge Abdul-Fattah Mourad appeals against a judgment supporting freedom of internet
Supreme Administrative Court started considering an appeal submitted by
Judge Abdul-Fattah Mourad against a judgment issued by the
Administrative Court on December 29, 2007 which supported freedom of
internet and freedom of expression in Egypt.
In last March 2007, Mourad brought a law suit against the Cabinet and
number of ministries requesting to ban 21 human rights organizations
websites besides online newspapers and blogs, then he increased the
number to be 49 websites that included several international human
rights organizations and media institutions claiming that they are
tarnishing Egypt and Arab governments reputation, but the Court judged
in favor of freedom of expression and rejected the law suit which
ensured freedom of internet and the right to information exchange.
Judge Mourad didn’t accept the judgment, so he submitted the appeal to
the Supreme Administrative Court.
It is worthy to mention that the Arabic Network discovered plagiarism
committed by Judge Mourad as he conveyed scores of pages from the
Network’s report titled "Implacable Opponent, Internet and the Arab
Governments" and included these pages in his book entitled "Scientific
and Legal Fundamentals of Blogs" without any permission or even citing
a quotation. Mourad in this way violated rules of scientific research
and Intellectual property as he didn’t recognize his crime or even give
an apology. Not only this, but he also fabricated various cases against
the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information, Hisham Mubarak Law
Center and number of bloggers, rather than his trial to ban online
newspapers and blogs that stood in solidarity with the Arabic Network
in posting news about the abovementioned crime against intellectual
property.
